Stills and motion, covered together

Most food shoots start with the big landscape hero shot. Then someone asks for the social versions a week later and everyone starts cropping. I do it the other way round. Vertical is the starting point, and the wider crops are protected on the day.

I’m Scott Choucino, a social first food content creator in London, and I shoot both the photography and the video myself.

Stills

Food photography that holds up on a small screen: texture, colour and appetite appeal, with room left for text and stickers. I frame for 9:16, 4:5 and 1:1 on set, so you get hero shots, carousel images and cover frames, plus packshots for your website, delivery apps and marketplaces.

Motion

Short, loud clips built around the moment people stop scrolling: the pour, the cheese pull, the sauce landing on the burger. I shoot on 6K raw slow-motion cameras, with everything from 6 second cut-downs up to 30 second films. The edit happens in the studio, so you can review footage on the day.

One set, one booking, one look

Because I shoot both myself, the same styling, props and lighting cover photography and video. Your feed matches your campaign, and you only have to brief one person.

Before the shoot. We work out where the content will live and what each piece has to do. I build the shot list around the first second of every clip.

On the day. Food doesn’t last long under hot lights, so the styling, props and camera positions are sorted before the hero dish comes out. Burgers still look like burgers, and ice cream holds its shape long enough to get the stills and the clips.

After. Files arrive cropped and sized for every channel in the brief, ready to post.

Built for the scroll

A lot of the brands I work with want to reach a younger audience, and that changes how things get shot. Recent work like strawberry cream soda, iced coffee and matcha is made for the feed: bright colour, visible texture, and something that looks ready to pick up.

Who it’s for

Brands. One booking for a month of social content, without coordinating separate photo and video crews.

Agencies. A photographer who works to layouts and platform specs, takes art direction, and is comfortable on a busy set with stylists, props and clients all in the room.

Start-ups. Plenty of content from a small budget. I plan each shoot so every set-up covers website, packaging, social and marketplace images.

Two studios, and Teddy

I work from fully equipped studios in London and Leicester, with Broncolor lighting, a full grip package, high-resolution view cameras, 6K raw slow-motion cameras, an in-house editing suite and a big prop and background store. My Golden Retriever, Teddy, usually supervises from somewhere nearby.

I’m represented by Agent At Large, the agency for food and drink photographers and directors. For bigger campaigns, they can talk you through availability, budget and how the production would run. You can see the rest of the Agent At Large roster too.

Got a product and a deadline?

That’s enough to start. Send over a full creative deck, a rough idea, or just the product and the date, and I’ll come back with options, availability and budget.
