Professional Product Photographer London

I’m a product photographer based in London. I make bold, graphic images of products that stop people scrolling, and that still look sharp enough to go on a billboard.

Most of my work is still life. Everything is built, lit and shot in the studio, so nothing is left to chance. I like strong colour, clean shapes and a bit of attitude. I’d rather an image had a point of view than sat quietly in the background of a webpage.

Still life photography with a point of view

A good product photograph has two jobs. It shows the thing clearly, so the customer knows exactly what they’re buying. And it makes them feel something about it. Plenty of photographers can do the first. The second comes from the lighting, the colour, the props and the angle, and that’s where I spend most of my time.

I’ve shot for [household brands / a few clients you’re allowed to mention], as well as a lot of personal projects. The personal work matters more than you’d think. It’s where I try out ideas, and a fair few of them end up in client shoots.

Bold and graphic, on purpose

My style is graphic. That means clear shapes, confident colour and compositions you can read in a second. It suits products that need to stand out on a crowded shelf, a busy website or a social feed. If you want something softer or more muted, I can do that too, but I’ll always ask what you want people to feel when they see the image before I decide how to shoot it.

Product photography London: what I shoot

I work on all sorts of products. [Edit this list to match your portfolio.]

  • Pack shots and packaging
  • Tech and gadgets
  • Beauty and personal care
  • Accessories and jewellery
  • Homeware and lifestyle products
  • Hero images for campaigns and launches

Images for websites, campaigns and print

Some clients need clean white-background shots for an online shop. Others want a single hero image for a campaign, or a set of creative shots for social. I can do all of it, and I’ll tell you honestly which will work best for your budget.

How a product shoot works

1. The brief. You tell me what the product is, where the images will be used and any references you like. I’ll ask a few questions and send you a quote.

2. Planning. I sort out the set, the props and the lighting. For bigger jobs I’ll send a mood board or a sketch, so everyone agrees on the look before the shoot day.

3. Shoot day. We shoot at my studio [add location]. You’re welcome to come along and watch, or I can get on with it and send you images through the day for approval.

4. Retouching and delivery. The images are edited and cleaned up, then delivered in the sizes and formats you need for web, print and social.

Lighting and retouching

Lighting is the biggest thing in product photography. Glossy, matt, transparent and reflective surfaces all behave differently, and each one needs its own approach. I put the time into getting the light right in camera, so the retouching is about polish and not rescue. It keeps the images looking natural, and it keeps your costs down.

Working with brands and agencies

I work directly with brands, and with agencies and designers who already have the idea worked out. I’m happy working to a tight layout, or starting from a rough idea and building it up together.

I’m represented by Agent-At-Large, so you can book me through them if that’s easier: www.agentatlarge.co.uk
