This is my portrait of Benn Hartmann.
Benn popped over to the studio yesterday so I could take his portrait for my new project. I met Benn about 5 years ago (I think it was at The Donkey) when I moved back to Leicester, we got chatting and have remained friends ever since. I would assume that I had a camera with me. At the time I rarely left the house without one as I used it as a bit of a coping mechanism for social situations. I was going through a pretty rough period in my life back then and I had a lot of time on my hands when we first met. I never felt judged by Benn and he has always accepted me for who I am, which at the time probably wasn’t the easiest of things to do. Benn is a bit of a legend in the Leicester music scene and a very talented guitarist. I have taken his portrait so many times over the years and also shot 2 music videos for him. Although we don’t see each other that often anymore, it is still great to catch up over a beer or coffee. This is my portrait of Benn Hartmann.
