Available light portrait photography workshop
The next instalment in our series “Leicester photography workshops” is an available light portrait photography workshop. Available light portrait photography is a tricky subject. A lot of people think it is easier than using flash. The light is always there, so how hard can it be?
Well, there is a lot more to it than just sticking with what you are given. During this short workshop, we will look at how to utilise the light we are given, how to plan your shoot to get the best results and ways to manipulate the available light.
We will cover;
The types of available light
How to place your subject in relation to the light source
How to manipulate the light
What to do in harsh light
How to cope in low light

What should I bring with me?
A pen and notebook
Your camera equipment
Although we can help on the night, a basic understanding of manual exposure (F Stops, Shutter speeds and ISO) and composition would be beneficial.

What are Leicester Photography Workshops
These workshops are a way for us to teach people with an interest in photography (whether it’s amateur or professional) in bite-sized chunks at an affordable rate. This will be run on Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.There’s plenty of parking, tea, coffee and of course biscuits. Most importantly the emphasis for these workshops is to have fun whilst learning. We’re friendly and approachable and will ensure the content is varied to be useful to those just starting out and also helpful to those who make a living taking photos. This session is going to be focusing on how to pose your model
